It is believed that the Institute will provide a highly dynamic
platform, which could lead to the

sustainable opportunities
through acquisition of new knowledge and skills opening
opportunities for quality employment, improved standards of living
and economic growth in India. Some of the specific objectives of
the Institute include:
• To provide a platform for Indians, non-resident Indians, and
other outside experts who may be able to contribute based on their
expertise by providing knowledge, advice, technology transfer and
other related areas, for strengthening the competence of the next
generation leaders of India. In order to accomplish this
objective, the Institute will focus on short-term
courses/workshops, alliances and other activities. The Institute
has now established a track record in accomplishing these
objectives. The Institute is also working to establish a database
of non-resident Indians, with expertise in some of these critical
public health areas.
• Given the rapidly advancing science and technologies, the
Institute on its platform will continue to press forward on
training activities using creative methodologies that can meet
global standards and thus, improve competitiveness and create more
opportunities for the workforce in these high entry barrier areas,
including Public Health, Food and Agriculture, Water and Energy
Resources. The Institute’s founders believe that the trained
workforce must be competitive in the global market place.
• The Institute’s founders believe that knowledge is important for
people to make choices and decisions with respect to their health.
There is a wealth of information on a variety of diseases,
including cancer, diabetes, coronary artery disease and
psychiatric diseases. The Institute has a long term goal of
establishing software-driven friendly educational tools in English
and other local languages to provide health information. This
would include both preventive, treatment and disease management
tools. The Institute has established active partnerships to offer
these tools through the Institute.
• The Institute will also advance the importance of public
accountability and social responsibility by providing a forum for
further dialog through experts.
• The Institute will also press forward active partnerships and
collaborations with other non-profit and for-profit organizations,
to support Institute’s mission as a charitable organization.
The Institute has been active since it was founded in 2004 and it
is continuing to advance several of these activities while adding
some new initiatives to its platform. The Institute has also
established global partnerships with some of the leading US
organizations, including the National Institutes of Health (NIH)
and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. The Institute is also
in consultation with another US organization, which is active in
developing models to offer solutions for rural health care
delivery. The Institute is also working with other global
organizations to be part of our effort to make a difference in the
lives of people in India.
